A controlled burn allows removal of fuel under the tree canopy to prevent devastating fires. Timing is critical allowing for spring growth to foster and support healthy vegetation growth, wildlife and the forest. This burn took place 17 months after the winds from hurricane Helene hit this area of SC. This one location ( Peach Farm Project) allowed for a burn. The Two Church Project s will required clear cutting to prevent wildfires due to amount of timber on the forest floor. We continue to work closely with timber specialist to assess the health of each tract.
